Had Unprotected Intercourse. Have Throat Pain, Loose Stools. HIV?
Hi, Im worried sick . During sex the condom slipped off and there was unprotected vaginal penetration for around 30 seconds. Assuming the person was Hiv positive..what are my chances of having received the virus from the encounter. To make it worse I think the anxiety is causing all the symptoms to have me freak out.2 days after that started with a minor throat pain...stool is not regular though not watery..i have no fever...but get anxious while sleeping and break into sweat...cant detect any swollen lymp glands yet.and no rashes that I dint have already.
There are people (30-40%) living uninfected with HIV in spite of their regular sex for years while their spouse were having HIV and they are called as Sero- discordant couple.
So all the sex encounters are not necessarily infectious. According to CDC, Atlanta, 5 exposures per 10000 contacts are only infectious. So there are lot of chances for you to be uninfected even if your sex partner has HIV.
The earliest manifestations of HIV can occur only after 3-4 weeks after the risky exposure. So your present symptoms are not likely to be due to HIV.
It is better to get checked for HIV by blood test after 12 weeks.
Good luck to you.
