Had Unprotected Sex, Got Period, Cramping With Brown Discharge, No Blood, Pregnancy Test Negative. What It Could Be?

My period was due Tuesday I have had period and cramping with brown discharge no blood. Not heavy but enough to show staining on the pad. The discharge lasted just under 3 days.last night I had cramping but feel fine this morning. My husband and I have had unprotected sex but we use the withdrawal method. I did a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative. I'm happy to be pregnant or not but am concerned it may be a little more sinister , although have no reason to think that as I am a healthy 38year old.

Thanks for your query.
Your brown discharge lasted for 3 days may be because of implantation bleeding also or maybe because of hormonal disturbances.
Chances of pregnancy have always been there with unprotected sex but you should consult a gynecologist to rule out pregnancy and other causes because you are 38yrs. of age.
