Had Unprotected Sex, Trying For Baby, Cycles Have Been A Bit Up And Down. What Does This Mean?

I had my normal period which lasted 5 days it finished on monday but then started up again this morning (friday) and is quite alot just like a normal pariod. I had unprotected sex with my husband on wednesday night as we are trying for a baby. My cycles have been a bit up and down of late ranging from 26 to 36 days. Not one month has been the same length for about 5 months now. I hadf a baby boy 14 months ago so i know my body is maybe trying to find its cycle again and settle but what does this mean for my cycle? do i start again and take it as a new cycle and that i dont ovulate for about another 14 days??

Hi there ~

I understand your concern. Once you have a bleeding episode, you start over again and take it as a new cycle. However since your periods are screwed up and are very variable, it might be useful to use the temperature method to find out if you are ovulating so that you and your husband may take the opportunity to have sex so as to result in a pregnancy. However, this is not perfect science and I hope you understand. I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!
