Hair Stuck At The Back Of Throat. Coughing, Gagging And Trying To Remove It. Raw, Red, Irritated Throat, Loss Of Voice. History Of Bronchitis. Instant Removal Method?

42 YO female...After showering yesterday, I found a hair stuck in the back of my throat. I have artifficial nails and grabbed in out. It was shorter than my normally long hair, but assumed it was gone. Throughout the day, I have felt like I may still have a piece remaining. Have tried fingers, toast, bread, vinegar, toothbrush, pepto, delsym, etc. I have been coughing and gagging and now my throat is raw, red, irritated..... Still yet, all of my attempts seem to fail.I also have lost my voice at this point as well. Additionally, I have had a history of bronchitis.. This is driving me NUTS!!!! How do I remove it FAST????

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Nothing such as hair can stay in the throat for a long time; it would even move into the bowel along with swallowed food and water and usually get excreted. You seem to have removed the hair which you say was struck. Now there may not be anything left; avoid using any such methods like inserting fingers and toothbrush. If you still seem to be worried about it visit an ENT specialist who will examine your throat clearly and remove any foreign body if present.

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Hair is less likely to do such severe irritation - could it be something else?
Even then, there may not be any remnant left! Irritation and inflammation following the original insult can account for the symptoms, even after it is gone...
You can not do anything by yourself! You have to see an ENT specialist - they have the knowledge, experience and instruments...

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
