Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
right below my right collar bone i have noticed a hard knot like lump. it is not very noticable. it is painless. i dont know what it is or why its there or how it could have been caused. i am not sick, so swollen lymphnode doesnt make sense.. its about an inch long and hard like a bone... but its below my collarbone just a bit so it cant actually be my collarbone...
It is difficult to give an opinion without clinically examining you. There is usually a small bony projection which is called as corocoid process. It is felt on the outer one third and just below the collar bone. This is normal. To clear the doubt, Chest Xray is a good tool with us. If needed CT-chest can be done.
Since the swelling is painless and not prominent, nothing to worry as of now. But still get yourself examined by your doctor and follow his advice.
Regards.
