Has The Mold In The Air Been Hurting Our Baby During Pregnancy?

I live in a small rental home and just discovered a green and white fuzzy mold on my carpet and on various surfaces in my house. My wife is pregnant, and luckily she hasn t been in the house for a few weeks. Has the mold in the air been hurting our baby, or could it potentially hurt them?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
I have read your query & understand your concern.
There is no direct harm/ effect due to green/white mold on pregnancy. only chance being pregnant lady gets allergic to the spores of mold, may get allergic cold/ bronchitis- which can affect baby growth by affecting mother's respiration.Any respiratory affection must be treated sufficiently with proper anti fungal drugs/ antibiotics guided by culture results.
She should be under care of an expert physician.
It's good your wife was away from the molds for last 3 weeks. Try to make your house mold free by treating it with anti fungal spray.Carpet should be dry cleaned & treated with anti fungal spray/ discarded if not cleared.
Thanks.
