Have GI Issues Bloating, Pain, Fever, Fatigue And Back Pain. Being Treated For Ulcer With Zantac And Prilosec

I have been dealing with GI issues for over 4 months. Bloating, Pain, Fatigue, low-grade fever, stool changes, & back pain with the occasional chest pain. I'm being treated for an ulcer (Zantac twice a day & Prilosec once a day) but I haven't been diagnosised (no endoscopy yet). My symptoms seem to fit an ulcer.. I've been to the ER 4 times for serious pain but everything came back good & they just continued treating it was an ulcer. The only thing that relieves my pain is smoking marijuana but I saw smoking is bad for ulcers. It also calms my nerves & makes me focus on something other then my problems. I know stress is bad for ulcers as well, but I wanna know what the real affect may be of smoking marijuana? I am not sure its an ulcer yet because I haven't had an endoscopy & I tested negative for H. Pylori so that's my nerves are shot because I'm not sure what's going on. Please help, tired of the pain. Btw I quit smoking a few weeks ago to see if it would make a difference & things seemed to worsen.

Gastroenterologist 's  Response
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).

It's good to hear that you have quit smoking

I will advise you to get an endoscopy examination to confirm the diagnosis

Smoking even marijuana will lead to increase in ulcer, there is no doubt about it

I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to answer that too. Remain in touch and get-well soon.
