Have A Dull Ache In The Ovary Area, Hips, Back. Painful When Having Sex. Ultrasound Normal. Suggestions?
I am experiencing discomfort or a dull ache in what I believe is my ovary area. Also in my hips, and in lower back. This is more prevalent on the left side. This progresses to severe pain during sexual intercourse. Also, when I cross my left leg or attempt to lay on my left hip the ache becomes more pronounced. I have seen my doctor and had pelvic/transvaginal ultrasound. I got the results today and she say the ultrasound was NORMAL. I was surprised. Something is wrong and I know it is. I am going to see another doctor for a 2nd opinion. In the meantime, can you advise?
Sometimes there could be some pelvic infection or minor adhesions due to previous surgeries etc. that can give to pain abdomen. If you are having any associated features like vaginal discharge, cervicitis etc. there is more possibility for infection. So after consulting your doctor you can go for one course of antibiotics. Possibly this can help to some extent. If the pain persist or increases you can go for diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy to find out the actual cause for your problem and can get treated accordingly.
