Have A Large Bunion. Foot Was Operated. Difficult To Stand. Unable To Wear Shoes. How To Specialize In This Type Of Repair?

I have a large bunion which has caused my toes to shift. This foot was operated on for tailor bunion approximately 30 years ago. It is difficult to stand on for extended period of time. Also, has limited the shoes that I am able to wear. Not to mention how ugly my foot looks. I want to know if there are any doctors who specialize in this type of repair.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Based on the description, I suspect that you could have developed secondary arthritic changes in the involved joint leading to pain, stiffness and joint deformity.

I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon specialized in corrective foot and ankle surgeries.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
