Have Alopecia Areata. Patches On Chin, Scalp, Eyebrows. Will It Be Normal?
Hi, I'm suffering from alopecia areata over 4yrs. First the patches were on the chin then it increased to my scalp and now eyebrows. Patches come and go. Will it ever be normal again? the no. of patches are increasing specialy when i'm under stress. Pls tell me if i should just wait for the hair to grow back or visit a doctor for steroid injections.
Hello, Welcome to health care magic. From your history of recurrent patches, I would suggest you get your thyroid profile done. In about 70% of cases, the hair regrows on its own. However, if you have multiple patches you can take steroid injections into the patch. You could also use topical immunomodulators like tacrolimus after consulting your doctor. Hope this helped you. Take care.
