Have Anxiety Attacks. Got High Heart Rate. How To Overcome This Problem?
Im a 13 yo female and ive been having "anxiety attacks" my grandma is an ex nurse and we checked my heart rate and its 121 this is a normal thing for me it happens once a day and shes really concerned. She doesnt have much cardiac practice and she doesnt know whats wrong. Im 158 and 5'7" and have a normal intake of 900-1100 calories a day. Can you help.
You are 13 year old and having anxiety, please understand anxiety it self can cause fast heart rate that is tachycardia.
It is only episodic for you that is once or twice a day, it is unlikely due to any organic cause. We still need to rule them out hence please consult a Physician and conditions like Anemia,Hyperthyroid state and even any disease causing low grade fever.
If everything is fine then your doctor can give anti anxiety medication for some duration and symptomatic relief by use of Beta blocker in low dose.
Please also take up yoga and meditation which help to calm down anxiety.
These are prescription medicines and you will need proper prescription. Hope this helps. Wish you good Luck Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.
