Have Been Asked To Stop Intake Of Mucinex-D For Sinus, Ear Blockage But Want To Continue. Any Suggestion?
I've been taking Musinex d for 3 days. Day 2 I presented with very itchy hands, chest and feet. Subsided then returned on feet. Pharmacist said ok to take Alavert for itch and it worked. The Musinex D was really working for sinus and middle ear blockage and I hate to stop it ( although my "doctor asst" said to stop med cuz next reaction could be bad. I'm nit trying to tempt fate but this sinus thing is on its 6th week. Mad not relief until now. Can I continue the Musinex D with Alavert till my ear unplugs???
I have gone through your query regarding development of itching over body after taking Musinex D. This medication was prescribed for your sinus and ear blockade. You are not sure about sensitivity and wants to continue musinex asit is helping you.
Usually Musinex does not react but you are having symptoms of sensitivity therefore ideally it should be stopped and now you may take-
1- Steam inhalation.
2- Anti histaminic.
3- Antibiotic (broad spectrum).
I hope this will solve your problem.
Regards.
