In 1996 I started having blood in my stool every time I would have my period. Well I had several test done and everything was ruled out that anything to do with my menstrual cycle was causing the bleeding, so I had a colonoscopy done and it showed that I had hemorrhoids and the reason they only bleed when I was on my period was due to the change in hormones. Well it also showed some polyps, which the Dr. removed and said they were non-cancerous. Well I was told I should have a colonoscopy every few years for the next several years, which I did, and they all continued to show the hemorrhoids but I will be 48 in April and I haven't had a period in over a year now, but I still have pms and the blood in my bowel movements. I haven't had a colonoscopy done since 2006 and my question is should I have one since it's been so long.
