Have Bruises After A Fall, Severe Injuries. What Does This Indicate?
Hello, I had a bad fall down a flight of stairs two days ago. I have bruises and cuts on my face and body but don't think there was severe injury. I am concerned about my left cheek though. It is slightly swollen and hurts to the touch, however there is no bruising. Should I be concerned? It feels like there should be a nasty bruise there. Is that indicative of deeper damage? Should I go to the doctor? Thanks in advance for advice. -Clumsy Kelly
Hi Kelly!
welcome to HCM!
Trauma resulting from falling or sporting events is a common thing but few bumps of this nature result in serious injury. Face has a rich blood supply so bruises and swelling look bigger than actual injury. You can use antibacterial ointment .
However if any new symptom like headache, vomiting, disorientation develops then you must note and report to your doctor for an examination.
hope this will help you!take care
