Hi ,thanks for writing to HCM. A keloid is a kind of hypertrophic scar.It occurs in people having keloidal tendancy. So it is common to devolop keloid after burn, trauma etc. A keloid when excised recurrs back,so there is no surgical treatment for keloid.Keloid treatments commonly used are intralesional steroid injections, cryosparay, laser ablation. Some silicone contaning preperations are available in market.Whatever may be form of treatment keloid is only supressed and not cured. So it is better you consult a dermatologist and take treatment accordingly.THANKS.
