Have Burning Sensation In The Lip. Had Waxed The Lip Earlier, Not Much Hair Got Removed. What To Do?

i waxed my upper lip last night. It wasnt successful, that when i tore the waxing strip, the wax was still on my lip and it took off nothing. then i just kept sticking and pulling the waxing strip on my upper lip, hoping that it might help taking off some hair. However, my upper lip has gone so red and it felt like burning. it has been a night already and it is still red and feels like burning. i need to it be gone by the next day, what should i do ?

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query to HCM.
It seems from your query that you have burnt your upper lip area by wax.
The very first and most important thing you should do is not to touch the area at all. By touching, squeezing or pinching the area continuously the skin over the lip has got inflamed and is now red.
For the betterment kindly follow the instruction below:
- Do cold compresses by a cotton soaked in cold water for 5-6 times for 2-3 minutes each.
- Apply over the counter available calamine lotion over the area for two times.
- If you see the redness is very high then can take a painkiller for 2-3 times a day for 2 days and then on the basis of redness.
- Despite the above measures if you are not getting better in 2 hours then can take medical advise for oral and topical antibiotics.

Meanwhile you should do strict sun protection over the area other wise can leave a mark. In future do not try to do such things which can harm your skin.
Hope these informations are helpful.
