I had a very mild chest pain around the pectoral region, left side yesterday, the pain lasted about 10 seconds and then left. came back about 2 minutes later, lasted 10 seconds, then no pain. This went on for most of the day. The area around my pectoral felt a bit sore, after I took a couple of panadols the pain eased and hasn't returned since.
I am 72 years old. my Blood pressure reading yesterday was 123/71 and today 122/78. My cholesterol was 4 the last time I checked Feb this year. I am 182 cm's tall and weigh 72.5 kilo's. I am on no medication. I exercise for one and a quarter hours everyday, includes 30 mins walking, 30 mins on exercise bike and 15 mins light weigths.

Hello dear,

Chest pain can be caused by various reasons, including minor problem such as indigestion or stress, to serious medical emergencies such as a heart attack.

The case history as mentioned in your post suggests that the chest pain around the pectoral region is due to straining of chest muscles due to overuse.
Symptomatic relief can be obtained by intake of analgesics & muscle relaxants.

Other causes of chest pain include:
1. Angina
2. Respiratory tract infection
3. Short-term, sudden anxiety with rapid breathing
4. Peptic ulcer disease
5. Pain from the digestive tract, such as esophageal reflux

So, it will be better to consult a Doctor & get a physical examination done to rule out other causes.
So that proper management steps could be taken.

Wishing you a Good Health.
Thanks & take care.
