Have Chest Side Pain And Breathless Problem. TB Test Negative. X-ray Report Was P. Effsion. Advise?

my wife have problem in chest side pain mostly left side (some time shift back of chest and right side also) and breathness problem since may 2013 after viral problem hv checked 3-4 times Tb test but every time showing -ve result as well as no Tb symptoms in the body ,no weight loss etc xray reprot was left side p.effusion ( in june-2013)
but in aug 2013 ultrasound no effusion found now she is very much fed up with this pain and breathlessness problem pls suggest what to do ...A doc is SAYING ABT SARCODISIS

Most commonly a left sided effusion is seen with TB and cardiac problems.
As TB is ruled out and the recent ultrasound shows no effusion now then the other possibilities could be SLE and autoimmune diseases. Sarcoid does cause an effusion but is very rare.
Hence what i feel is that you should get some investigations done like ANA, Anti dsDNA for SLE and see if there is any cardiac problem.
Lastly if no other reason is found then sarcoid can be a diagnosis of exclusion. You can do serum ACE levels for sarcoidosis
