Have Cold, Stuffy Nose, Cough And Wheezing. Taking Amoxicillin, Asthalin And Duolin Nebulizer. How Can Immunity Be Built?

Dear Doctor, my son is 27 months old and ever since he has been going to playschool has had cold/snzzeing/stuffy nose which quickly morphs into cough with wheezing, at a frequency of twice a month. Its worrisome and I do not know if it is because of Bangalore weather. The wheezing thing is a bit new for the last 1 month and it makes him cough all the time.
The first time around the doctor whom we consulted gave him asthalin(5ml) along with usual cold syrups for 5 days and it subsided. The second time arojnd wheezing became more persistentand he said there might be a case of infection and has prescribed Amoxicilin along with Asthalin and T-Mimic and also Duolin Nebulizer for 3-5 days.
My questions are:
1. Are these medicines, especially Asthalin, amoxycylin and Duolin too strong or are they safe and given for kids of such age and such problems usually?

2. How to prevent frequent recurrence of wheezing related coughs? Is wheezing happening because of the common cold? Is cold and phlegm acting as the trigger for wheezing by blocking airways?

3. How to build immunity towards these?
