Have Congenital Muscular Dystrophy, On Leg Braces. What Is Normal Life Span?

I have a friend with muscular dystrophy - don t know what kind but I know it is congenital - and they have 50% heart function up from 35% with medication and just recently started wearing leg braces at the age of 55. Is it likely they will have a normal lifespan?
