Have Congestive Heart Failure. Taken Nitro For Chest Pain. Should The Pain Stop In 20 Minutes?

I have congestive heart failure and never have chest pains. I had one a few minutes ago and took a nitro under my tongue. About 20 minutes ago. Should I expect this pain to stop in 20 minutes? Shold I take another pill? I am 72 years old , had a cabbage in 1994, several stints since that time but never have any chest pains. It does not feel like an elephant on my chest, but I just don't ever get Angina. I was checked out a week ago and was found to be in good condition everything considered. My cholesterol is around 100, I am 5'11", 223 pounds.

Hello. In patients with a history of coronary heart pathology and frequent chest pain, Nytroglycerin 1mg under the tongue with a maximum of 3 tablets in 30 minutes is used to relieve pain. However, if you've never had chest pain, I recommend that you go to an Emergency Service as soon as possible for make an EKG and other heart test.
I wish you good health.
