Have Cramping, Discharge And Diarrhea. Had Colposcopy And Cervical Biopsy Done. Is This Normal?

Hello. I am a 23 year old female, just had a colposcopy and a cervical biopsy two days ago. The doctor took 3 seperate sections from my cervix and I immediately was dizzy, sweaty, light headed, and nauseous. I had to wait about 30 minutes before I could sit up after the procedure. I have since had cramping and discharge (which the doctor said is normal) but I have still been nauseous, I have had only liquid diarrhea since the procedure, I am still having horrible cramps, and am having a hard time walking around. Is this normal, or do you think I could have contracted an infection?

Hello ma'am.

An infection is likely, but this could not necessarily be due to the investigations. In fact this is most probably due to something you have eaten or drank that was contaminated. I would advice you to revisit your doctor and request for an elaborate examination and the initiation of an anribiotic course, whether prophylactic or complete. This would be most wise.
