Have Discomfort In Tonsil, Swelling, Veins In Back Of Throat, Red Bump Near Tonsil. Help

Hello I am an 18 year old female, I have been experiencing slight discomfort in my left tonsil as it is also swollen, there are purple/red veins in the back of my throat on that side, and one red bump on the right side by my right tonsil. If you could please help me find out what that may be I would be forever grateful. Thank you.

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding swelling in your left tonsil , pain and prominent veins on the posterior wall of throat.

As you said about your throat it appears that you are most probably having acute tonsillitis involving mainly of left side but also extending to right side. The prominent veins on the back portion of tongue are due to inflammation of the pharynx.

You are now advice to take-

1- Tab Paracetamol.

2- Warm saline gargling.

3- Anti allergic and anti histaminic.

4- Antibiotic.

I hope this will help you ,but if your symptoms persists even after above treatment than consultation with an ENT doctor will become necessary.

Regards.
