Have Distorted Vision Last Night. Suffers Breathing Problems. Slow Heart Beat. High BP. Suggestions?

My 73 year old sister experienced distorted vision last night and it continued today. She was watching TV and said the characters on the screen appeared very thin ( as did people around her) and flat. She suffers from breathing problems. slow heart beat and will soon have a pacemaker implanted. She has high blood pressure. She saw an internist and opthamolgist today with no answers.

Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

I had gone through your query and understand your concern.

Your sister have clinical features of increased intracranial pressure ( ICP).

She have the typical cushing's triad
hypertension ( low Blood pressure)
Bradycardia ( Slow heart beat)
Irregular respiration

She also have distorted vision ( due to increase in intracranial pressure).

Thus we have to find the cause of Increased intracranial pressure.
It is most commonly seen in space occupying lesion like brain tumour and it result in impending brain content herniation.
It can also occur in cerebral trauma.

But she does not have any history of trauma recently.
It is most probably due to Some SPACE OCCUPYING LESION LIKE BRAIN TUMOUR.

It is difficult to treat at this age and her condition is so worst.

It is up to you about further management. consider her age and condition now.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dr.Manjeth
