Have Diverticulitis. Prescribed Levofloxacin And Metronidazol. Done CAT Scan. Do I Expect Side Effects?
My doctor has prescribed two antibiotics Levofloxacin 500mg once a day and Metronidazol 500mg three times a day for a possible absess, since I have diverticalitis and have had pain in my lower pelvic area she feels that I need to take this medicine for 10 days. My doctor has ordered a CAT scan tomorrow, should I wait to take these meds after I receive the test results back especially since there are many undesireable side effects, or should I go ahead and start taking these meds right away?
Hi, There is no problem starting medicines right now as he must have sure that there might be having some infection in your old diverticulitis. There might not be any other possibility of pain. These medicine does have few side effects like metallic taste in mouth, loss of appetite, watering from mouth etc. Ok and take care.
