Have Emphysema, High BP,cholesterol. Using Nebulizer, Spiriva, Inhalers. Tightening In Chest, Difficulty In Breathing After Taking Steroids
I have emphysema, using a nebulizer every four hours, Spiriva each morning and two inhalers twice a day. Just finished a second round of oral steroids. I have high blood pressure and just started medication. Also have high cholesterol. When I finished the steroids each time my chest has tightened up and I have difficulty breathing. My heart rate is 106 right now and my blood ox is 94.

Hi,
The shortness of breath when you stop the steroids is a comon side effect.
To avoid this the best thibg to do is to decrease the doses gradually and than stopping.
