Have Epigastric Burning, Upper Left Quadrant Pain. Took Zantac, Antacid. Underlying Cause
What causes epigastric burning and left upper quadrant pain raidiates out my back? No nausea and Vomiting. No black stools. Sometimes zantac works gaviscon and ant acid sometimes just rest. Hurts to push on my back and around my sternum. Worse if I hold my arms out in front of me. No other symptoms. Not related to what I eat.
If you are having pain in left upper quadrant radiating to back, and no relief with zintac and antacids, I would suggest you to get your Ultrasonography done to see for Gall bladder and pancreas. I would like to know, if you consume alcohol. As this kind of pain can occur in Acute Pancreatitis, and alcohol is a common cause of that. Gall bladder stones can also cause that. So, it is advisable to get an ultrasound to be sure.
In case, you ultrasound is normal, then you might be having a peptic or duodenal ulcer, which can be treated easily.
