Have Fever, Cold. On Paracetamol. Swelling Near The Earlobe. Pain Reduced, Swelling Still There. Treatment?

hi my seven year son had fever and normal cold when we came to new zealand from india for a holiday the fever subsided in three days and finally came back after two days for a day then finally went for good only thing we gave him was paracetamol. its been fifteen days since but no sign of any fever or cold and he is fine now . however i notice that under his left earlobe just where the neck portion is starting he has a swelling initially for two days it was painful on touching but now over a period of time and on little hot fermentation there he says that the pain is very less rather negligeble at times and the swelling is also reduced as compared to earlier however it has not completely gone can u please advice .

Hi..
Thanks for the query..
The swelling is because of lymph nodes.
Lymph nodes become prominent when there is active ongoing infection..
Now that the fever is subsided you can wait for 2-3 days for the swelling to subside..
If it is still persisting its better to use a course of antibiotic to control the infection totally..
Hope this information helps.. Take care...
