Have Got Super Glue In Mouth, Turns Hard As It Hits Saliva, Running Nose, Coughing, Drooling. Take To ER?

My son may have gotten super glue in his mouth. I called poison control and the said he would be ok because it turnns hard as soon as it hits his saliva. Its been about 6 hours now and he has been drooling all day and his nose is running and he has been coughing a little. I dont know what to do? Do I take him to the ER?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Since he is a child and cannot express himself, it is better to take him to ER and get him assessed. Drooling can be normal or due to any adhesion inside the mouth because of super glue. Any suspected problems to do with his mouth and airway will be known.

Please do not delay because children cannot communicate and he is already having cold and running nose which can worsen if there is airway obstruction.

Hope this helps
