Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
If you are a UK citizen or a legal immigrant and you have a NHS number , you are entitled to free care which would include any surgery that your doctor may believe is necessary.
Surgery is not the first option for haemorrhoid. Because it is believed that low fiber diet and straining contribute to the condition , initial treatment is aimed at these.
This means increasing fiber intake, fluid intake and avoiding straining when using the bathroom. This would shrink the hemorrhoids and reduce symptoms.
It is important to use a diet rich in vegetables , fruit, whole wheat products, oats, barley , flax seeds,
psyllium seed and methycellulose.
The use of sitz baths when the hemorrhoids are inflamed may be helpful.
If there is no response to change in diet then your doctor may suggest surgery.
I hope this helps
