Hi,

Thanks for writing to HCM

Initially when you were detected with high BP the physician had prescribed Revalol-AM which is a combination of 2 drugs i.e. Metoprolol 25 mg + Amlodipine 5 mg.

During your second visit doctor felt that you don’t require 2 medications and hence he/she had removed Amlodipine and prescribed you only Metoprolol 25 mg.

During you third visit doctor has evaluated that Metoprolol 25 mg is not able to keep your BP under control and instead of exposing you to a new drug or adding an addition drug to Metoprolol 25 mg he/she preferred to increase the dose of Metoprolol from 25 mg to 50 mg.

It is better that your BP is controlled with one drug, let your physician evaluated your condition and help you control your BP.

Hope that answers your query

Take Care :)
