hello i m a 28 year female.. i m six weeks pregnant.. i underwent thyroid profile screening.. and the report shows my tsh levels slightly elevated. about 6.16.. its important to mention that i had thyromegaly and was on treatment for the last four years.. unfortunately i was off medicines since september 2012 and i conceived in the meantime.. i have taken endocrinology consulatation as well .. iwant to know what is the mininmum dose of thyroxine i should take to have a healthy pregnancy...

Hello,
You need to start taking thyroid medications.
The dose will be decided by the TSH levels. Generally for TSH level of around 6 , dose of 50 mcg should suffice. The dose needs to be adjusted after about 6 weeks by checking TSH levels.
Also, the dose needs to be adjusted according to the Free T3, free T4 and TSH level, which you need to repeat in every trimester, as pregnancy leads to changes in body systems.
Please follow the advise given by the treating doctors.
