Have Hypercalcemia. Tingling Arm, Back Pain. Taking Celebrex. Reason?

Hi, I ve been told I have hypercalcemia (sp?) and we have yet to find out what the cause is. I was wondering - and I m sure it s not related, but my right arm tingles throughout the day to the point of annoyance. I also have pain on the right side of my back, for which my doctor has given me Celebrex to deal with. Tingle happened before Celebrex. Hypochondriac?

Hi,
Hypocalcaemia essentially has low serum calcium.( less than 8.5 mg/dil.)
Hypocalcaemia results in neuro muscular irritability. Your tingling of right hand can be explained on this fact. It seems you also have you have back ache & were put on Celebrex for the same. You say pain & tingling under ribs both have gone with the medicine.
I would like to suggest few points regarding your problems-
* To get ionized level of calcium to have exact idea of Hypocalcaemia. Consult a Physician for the drug schedule. You also need vit.D supliments.
* get your spine examined by an orthopedic doctor. The symptoms may arise due to spondilitis & managment will change if it's so.
thanks
