Have Indentation In Thigh, Pain And Discomfort From Lower Back To Ankle. Took Steroid Shot. Right Medication?

I have a very large indentation in my right outer thigh, just below my hip bone. It just appeared 2 weeks ago and I have alot of pain and discomfort starting from my lower back to my ankle. The center of the indentation is discolored. I went to an orthopedic doctor about a month ago because my hip hurt so badly and I received a steroid shot. Since the doctor's visit the indentation and increase in pain has occurred. What could it be?

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
Here you used the word which may not be the proper word for this you mean to say swelling ? if this the swelling and if it is painful to you and partially responding to treatment then this thing will need further investigation, while describing the problem try to use very simple words so we can get it very easily because your given history is the only way with us and on the basis of this we are giving advise to you if this history is not proper then it become difficult for us to say any thing, have nice day.
