Have Inflammation On Elbow Joint, Told Tennis Elbow, Red, Swollen, Blood Test Reveals Slightly Heightened Uric Acid. Suggestion?
Hello Dr. Siegel, I have been having an inflammation at my right hand elbow joint. I was told this is tennis elbow but now it is over 6 months and I am still having a red swollen elbow joint. My blood test reveals slightly heightened uric acid levels also. Please tell me what is going on. Do I really have Tennis Elbow? or is this something else?
Your condition looks like Gouty arthritis because of the heightened uric acid levels as well as the time duration and its inability to resolve. We have to take your synovial fluid samples for the presence of crystals and the absence of bacteria.
