Have Mass Near To Heart, Swelling In Legs, Right Arm. History Of Colon Cancer. Give Me Suggestion

My mother-in-law is 85 and they have found a mass next to her heart. She is having a lot of trouble with swelling in legs and most recently in her right arm which is about twice its normal size. Would you suggest we just make her comfortable for whatever time she has left. Her doctor has said about 6 months. She has a history of cancer of the colin.
