Have Mole Is Thigh. What Is The Way To Get Rid Of This?

I had a small dark (close to black) symmetrical "mole" on the inside of my thigh I noticed about 4 weeks ago that was only about 1mm in diameter. I was looking at it one day and there was a hair growing out of it so I plucked it out. A bit later, I noticed a white flaky area where I had plucked out the hair so I scratched at it and it appeared the top layer of the mole (was basically flat) came off. I didn't think about it for a couple days but then looked again and the area seemed to have developed a scab like feeling and it was a bit red around it. A couple days later, I scratched at it again and the whole dark area came off. It appears the original dark spot isn't even there any more. It looks just like pink skin that is healing. I have many moles and am always on the look out for changes (melanoma fear). This one struck me as odd looking and then the way it behaved only to be able to scratch it off and now nothing but a pink healing area remains is weird. If it were a melanoma would I have been abe to pick it off like that??

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
The condition can be seborrheic keratosis, irritated mole or secondary infection in mole.If the mole is rapidly growing/bleeding /irregular borders then it must be evaluated for cancer(melanoma).
A visit to dermatologist will allow proper diagnosis and treatment.

Hope this helps.
