Have Muscle Pain And Joint Pain. Took Lovastatin For Years. Is This Side Effect Of Medication?
I have been on Lovastatin 20 mg for many years. I am a 64 yr old female. I know that statin drugs can cause muscle/joint pain. I am experiencing a lot of muscle joint pain and I was wondering if this drug could be the cause of it. I had been thinking it was just arthritis setting in but got to thinking maybe its the Lovastatin? A friend of mine is on Fenofibrate and I was thinking about asking my dr. about switching me to this.
Hi, It seems that this problem might be due to statin, you are using since many years. Go for blood testing for cholesterol and lipid profile. Stop statin for few months. Fenofibrates are given for having high triglycerides. Consult your doctor and discuss about this problem. Ok and take care.
