Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. As you are having an ovarian cyst on the right side , moderates size . The indication of presence of pus is elevated W B C count . In my opinion you should take following measures, 1 As pus is leaking and infection is there , diagnosis is already clear , question is about treatment . Take treatment of infection with broad spectrum antibiotics , it will act in both way as No. one it will reduce the size of cyst . no. two infection will be treated . 2 Consult one more gynecologist and take treatment of ovarian cyst as about this you haven't mentioned anything in the query. 3 If everything not working and pain is excruciating in nature consult your treating doctor and opt for surgery . In my opinion consultation with a gynecologist will be helpful. Good luck. Dr. HET
Welcome to HCM. Cyst is infected and worsening than you have to go for some surgical intervention, if it is not responding to medicines. Laproscopic surgery is advisable. Go for certain investigations like cbc, urine, rbs, hormonal study,USG and start treatment under guidance of your gynecologist.
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.
If you have a cyst in the pelvis that they think is leaking "pus" then you need to be in the hospital getting antibiotics and considering surgery. It sounds to me like you need another opinion about what is going on. A pelvic infection that gets out of control can be very dangerouse!
I suggest a surgery. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the truth is with the description you have provided, the best option to take is to do an open abdomen surgery (laparotomy) to remove the cyst as it is obviously symptomatic and putting you through a great deal of pain. Usually hemorrhagic cyst are best treated with a surgery especially as it is increasing in size and also contains pus. Ones the cyst is removed, you will return to normal physical state. Treating only the infection will not help as if it is already a tubo-ovarian abscess, surgery is still the best chance you have before the situation gets complicated with further delaying.
Hope this helps
