Have Painful Sore Throat. Stuffy Nose. Tried Cepacol Brand Lozenges. Not Helpful. Voice Little Varied. Suggestions?

Hello. I hope I dont need to pay money for this, my local clinic is closed. I have a very painful sore throat. Nothing is wrong with my tonsils, so it cant be tonsillitis. I have a stuffy nose and I cant exactly pinpoint where the pain in my throat is, but I cant see anything unusual when I look into my mouth in a mirror. I tried cepacol brand lozenges, but they numbed my mouth and not my throat where the pain is. I have to cough allot, but it hurts to cough and sometimes I cough up a bit of phlegm too. My voice is a little cracky, but it fluctuates from normal to a 13 year old boy who's voice is cracking because of puberty. I'm in allot of pain and it's been going on for 5 days now.

Hi,
It seems that you might be having acute upper respiratory tract infection or acute pharyngitis.
You might require an antibiotic medicine like Azzithromicin for 3 days which will clear your infection.
Take some decongestant tablet for temporary relief.
Do antiseptic warm water gargles.
Avoid cold drinks and junk food.
Ok and take care.
