Have Problems With Chronic Diarrhea, Prescribed An Antidepressant Which Helped Me. What Could Be Name Of It?
I have problems with chronic diarrhea and have off and on over the years. At one point I was prescribed an antidepressant that had beneficial digestive side effects and it worked very well, but it has been so long ago that I can t remember the name. It was a very low dosage that I took at bedtime, but it was probably 20 years ago. I am having to take Imodium now just to be able to make it through a day of work. Have an appointment with a gastroenterologist tomorrow, but was hoping to find the name of the antidepressant that helped my stomach problems so well.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. 20 years back most common antidepressant drug was in use "FLUOXETINE" 20 mg both in tablet and capsule forms. The side effects were nausea, diarrhea, fullness in stomach, bloating. Good luck. Dr. HET
