Have Recurrent Folliculitis Of My Umbilicus, Pyorrhea, Chronic. What Is Wrong?
hi i think i have recurrent folluculitis of my umbilicus resulting in pyorrhoea. its a chronic problem that goes and comes away. i was wondering if treatment via antobiotic cream is appropriate in the region considering the belly button is supposed to be dry. im in a country where ultrasound/ct is unavailable so i will not be able to check for any defects of the urachus until about 6 months from now
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The recurrent infection in the umbilicus can be due to a persistent infection in the area, poor hygiene, treatment resistance, poor immunity, etc. All these causes need to be ruled out after consulting your physician. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Rakhi Tayal , drrakhitayal@gmail.com
