Have Slight Discomfort While Standing, Tender To Touch, After Hitting Head. Should I Be Worried?

I'm a 34 year old woman in good health, I was in a relatives car, the normal passenger is significantly shorter than me and I didn't realize until I got in the car how high the seat was. When I reached out of the car to close the door, I slammed the top of my head on the door frame. It is tender to the touch and there is slight discomfort when I stand up / sit down. I put ice on it and am on my way home to ice it again. Should I be concerned?

Dear Mam,

Since you had a hit on your head, a haematoma must be excluded.

Haematoma means a blood clot, that might have developed a result of trauma to head.

However, it is unlikely if the hit is not so hard, if you had no loss of consiousness, and if you don't have any bleeding dosorders.

If you want to be sure, or you feel that you the hit was very strong, get a plain CT of your head.

If its not clot, carry on with fomentation locally on the area.

You will be allright soon.
