Have Small Amounts Of Blood After Periods, Pain And Cramps. Underlying Cause?

dear doctor , the first day of my last period was october 5, 2013 which takes 6-7 day to finish. sometime round the 19 i notice i was passing blood in very small amounts and aas of 24 i started passing blood as if i was seeing my period with pain and cramps on and off. i was expecting my period on the november 2. can u say the possible causes if this

The possible causes for your bleeding are :
-Ovulatory bleeding, as part of mittlesmerz syndrome.

-Intermenstrual spotting due to hormonal imbalance.
- Structural causes like fibroids, polyps etc can also lead to intermenstrual spotting.
- Early onset of menstrual cycle. Usually menstrual cycle between 21 to 35 days can be taken as normal only.
- If there is possibility of pregnancy, the spotting can be implantation bleeding or due to miscarriage.
So, if there is possibility of pregnancy, once go for blood test for pregnancy.
If test comes negative, the possibility of pregnancy is less.
If the bleeding subsides soon, that can be early onset of menstrual cycle.
If the spotting persists, consult gynecologist once and get evaluated.
