Have Small Lump On Shin With Pain When Pressed. Had Got A Shin Kick. Treatment?
Hello I got a shin kick about 2 weeks ago. I immidiately followed the rice treatment as I was feeling pain all the way to my ankle and for now most of the symptoms are gone. however it has been 2weeks and I still have a small lump on my shin which is still painful when pressed and my ankle feels restless. is this serious?
It is good that you started the RICE treatment immediately after the injury. The lump will take some time to disappear. Don't worry about it, since you say your symptoms have reduced remarkably.
Maybe you can apply some volini gel (diclofenac) at the site where it is hurting followed by hot fomentation 15 minutes later ( dip a piece of cloth in warm water and apply it over the lump intermittently ).If the pain is bad, maybe you could take brufen orally (anti inflammatory, analgesic).
In case the lump still persists after 2 weeks, please visit your doctor to rule out other causes like a crack in the bone , persistent hematoma etc.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
