Have Sore Foot, Swollen Toe, Cracks. Took Cortizone Injections. Done X-ray

Hi there, I have had a very sore left foot especially around my second toe. The ball of my foot is also sore. I have had 2 cortizone injections with relief being only a week or so. An xray has revealed nothing. The 2nd toe next to the big one is now swollen. This is affecting all walking as it is very painful. It feels like a bee sting or like when you haven't dried properly between your toes and it has cracked. The ball feels like a stone bruise.
Your help is appreciated. Thanks, Lee

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi Lee:

The pain underneath the ball if your foot could be due to abnormal mechanic of the foot, which can happen with flat foot or with bunions.

The X-ray may not show arthritis but can tell if there is deformed angle of big toe ( hallux valgus) or if the 2nd toe bone is longer than normal.

I will recommend that you get your x-ray reviewed by orthopaedic surgeon or upload it here if you have it and I can review it for you. It can help to decide if surgery will be indicated or not.

Kind regards
