Have Sore Throat, Cough, Fever And Headache. Remedy?
Hi I started with a slight sore throat about 6 days ago it has become phlegm deep in the throat and a pretty dry sore throat i am coughing but mostly due to the phlegm a very lite fever at times mostly i over heat when i get dressed up and start moving around have headaches for 2nd day now but i think they are from coughing and sore neck muscles lungs feel fine no nasal issues, just sore throat, phlegm, and cough. dont have insurance and dont want to goto doctor if i dont have to, does it sound like a common cold or strep or something else.
Thanks for posting,
Sounds to me like a throat infection or pharyngitis probably due to strep (given the symptomatic presentation). It might be due to a viral infection and requires only symptomatic treatment.
Well since you are blunt about not seeing a doctor and not having an insurance, it will be kind of difficult to tell you exactly what to do at home. You will need to do warm salt gargles or betadine gargles, take OTC mucolytics, NSAID and antibiotics to treat the symptom and the infection. Consulting a doctor would have been the right step to take.
Hope this helps
