Have Sore Throat, Swollen Glands, Pain Under Tongue, Ear Pain, Tiredness. What Could Be This?

It started off as a sore throat swollen glands that cause my whole neck to become swollen, its been like this for about a month, i recently went too my doctors he perscribed me antibitocs and the next day the pain from my throat went away and moved to the underside of my tounge only on my left side i am also very tired latley and i also have earaches, it is very painful. Could this be throat cancer? I dont smoke or drink, although i smoked hookah with some friends recently but this has been going on since before that.

Hello dear,

Kindly do not get concerned with the possibility of having throat cancer.
The symptoms mentioned in your post indicate that you might be having Pharyngitis.

Management includes:
1. Gargle with warm salt water to relieve throat pain.
2. Analgesics like paracetamol
3. Antibiotics depending upon culture & sensitivity reports to remove the causative organism.
4. Antihistamine preparations can also be used to provide symptomatic relief.

Meanwhile...avoid taking cold food & drinks, maintain adequate hydration & take soft, non-spicy foods.
It is also needed that you avoid smoking hookah, as it increases the risk of throat cancer.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
Take care.
