Have Swelling At The Back Of Thighs. Swelling Turns Purple And Sore To Touch. How To Diagnose My Symptoms?
Hi, I am 48 yrs old and have recently flew on a plane for 6.5 hours. Less than 24 hours I noticed the back of my thighs were extremely swollen and sore to the touch. In the days shortly thereafter the swelling turned purple in very large hand-sized areas behind both thighs. it took about 3 weeks to fade away. Now it has reappeared on the back of left thigh with same symptoms still sore, black & blue. Help?
Hello, thank you for asking this question. Your situation seem to be an emergency. After long time without moving blood is more easy to caogulate. Those pieces of coagulation formed travel with the bllod stream and may block small arterias giving blood to different parts of your body. The area black blue is a sympton of this. The treatements proposed for this are anticoagulants, like enoxaparin. Kind regards
