Have Swelling In The Leg Due To Continuous Standing

Hello. How are you? My husband's right leg from the ankle up about 4- 5 inches is swelling up very badly. It also puts off alot of heat. He has to work every day, he is a dry wall hanger, so he is on his feet all day. It does give him pain also. We have tried ice packs and he has also soaked it in the bath tub in very warm water. Could you please tell us what you think it might be and what we can do for it. Thank You very much, Tina and Jimmy

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Its called positional edema, which is a occupational disease, due to long standing.

You are rather advised to have his BP test done and also some other tests like xray or mri done to rule out any internal causes like bone or tendon problem.

hope my info helped you
